Sister projects

Along with ADVANCE, six more European-wide projects on mental health have been funded by the EU as an answer to the call, "Staying healthy (Two stage - 2022) (HORIZON-HLTH-2022-STAYHLTH-01-two-stage)". None of us wants to work in silo. We aim to work together and establish synergies to boost our impact for the European community. 

ADVANCE

SMILE

SMILE, originally “Supporting Mental Health in Young People: Integrated Methodology for cLinical dEcisions and evidence-based interventions”, is a project aimed at bolstering the mental health of young individuals in a rapidly changing society. It addresses challenges such as anxiety, depression, and societal stigmatization. The initiative is creating an Open Knowledge Platform (OKP) with digital tools for children, adolescents, and young adults aged 10 and up.

RECONNECTED

RECONNECTED is a response to multiple global developments that impact the daily life and wellbeing of European citizens. The project aims for a better understanding of how these developments influence the mental health of European citizens and offers digital solutions to nine vulnerable communities with the aim to protect their mental health.

IMPROVA

The e-Intervention Enhancing Mental Health in Adolescents project, IMPROVA, will co-design, pilot, evaluate, and facilitate the upscaling of a modular eHealth intervention platform that aims to improve mental health and well-being, early detect mental health problems and prevent common mental disorders in adolescents.

MentBest

MENTBEST proposes the use of proven community-based interventions and innovative technologies to prevent and mitigate the mental health challenges associated with dramatic and rapid change in Europe, focusing on five vulnerable groups: migrants/refugees, older people, younger people, long-term unemployed, and those with mental disorders.

Net&Me BooTStRaP

Bootstrap will provide unprecedented scientific knowledge on the psychological mechanisms underlying (risk for) PUI and potential interventions. Improved self-management and tools to optimize healthy internet usage will promote mental health and prevent mental ill health in adolescents, and contribute to reducing stigma.

ASP-belong

In our fast-changing society, poor mental health and social isolation are increasing among young people, exacerbated by the pandemic. Belonging – feeling connected to and accepted by others through supportive interpersonal relationships – is key to boosting mental health and overcoming loneliness. There is a lack of evidence-based interventions addressing belonging, particularly in schools, which remains a central space for adolescent socialisation.

Mental Health Dialogues

Join us for an exciting webinar series, "Mental Health Dialogues," brought to you by seven leading Horizon Europe projects. This series is a dedicated platform for innovation in mental health, offering a unique space where researchers, practitioners, and policymakers converge to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and advancements in mental health care.

Throughout the series, participants will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of topics including emerging mental health interventions, technological innovations in therapy but also in promotion and prevention, and policy implications that are shaping mental health services across Europe. Each session is designed to facilitate rich discussions that not only highlight best practices but also delve into the complex issues currently faced by the mental health sector. 

Our aim is to create a vibrant community of thought leaders who can share insights, foster collaborations, and influence the future of mental health in Europe. The webinars will feature presentations of recent research findings and actionable recommendations, ensuring that attendees not only gain comprehensive knowledge but also practical strategies that can be implemented in their respective fields. 

The webinar series will run every four months starting May 2024 until May 2028.
