Work Packages

ADVANCE is committed to delivering solid and timely outputs. The following outlines all work packages, detailing our strategic approach to achieving objectives from 2023-2028.

WP1: Problem analysis and co-creation

Overall objective: To ensure that problem analysis, implementation, and scaling-up strategies build on the perspectives of various stakeholders, including end-users.

WP2: Youth: intervention studies in Lithuania and Germany

Overall objective: To evaluate the efficacy of a locally adapted WHO developed, online chatbot-based intervention (STARS) for young adults in Lithuania, and evaluate a low-threshold digital ecological momentary intervention for enhancing resilience (EMIcompass) in climate change-affected youth in Germany.

WP3: Working adults: cohort and intervention study in the Netherlands

Overall objective: To examine the role of digitalisation on workers’ mental health and well-being and to evaluate the efficacy of a manager training to increase knowledge and skills regarding employee mental health and the effectiveness of an employee stress management intervention in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Netherlands.

WP4: Adult migrants: intervention studies in Italy and Denmark

Overall objective: To (1) compare implementation strategies for preventive mental health interventions with adult migrants in Italy and (2) develop a multi-sectoral implementation strategy for preventing mental health concerns amongst migrants in Denmark.

WP5: Older adults: intervention study in Switzerland

Overall objective: To implement and evaluate two major strategies for stabilising well-being and preventing cognitive decline in older adults in Switzerland.

WP6: Cross-cutting intervention study activities

Overall objective: To ensure coherence in cross-cutting activities across intervention trials in WPs 2-5.

WP7: Interdisciplinarity and knowledge integration

Overall objective: To (1) strengthen interdisciplinary dialogue and understanding across the different scientific disciplines involved in ADVANCE; (2) streamline the diverse strands of knowledge obtained through ADVANCE by establishing synthesis task teams and applying an overarching social justice theoretical framework.

WP8: Project management & Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication

Overall objective: To ensure effective and timely implementation and coherence of project activities through a fair and transparent management process; and to disseminate, exploit, and communicate research findings to all stakeholder groups.
